I had to drill the heads off the screws that hold the emergency brake lever onto the transmission tunnel, to get it off. No problem, I figured I would go to the hardware store and get some new ones, but no luck. They don't carry flat head screws with that thread pitch. And flat head screws are necessary so the lever clears them.

But---the screws that hold the door hinges to the body are the same ones only a little longer. So I removed three screws from the hinges on my rusted out 73 and used them. Problem solved.

Great!! I believe that they are 1/4 inch fine! You would probably need a fastener shop for that!!
