I have a '79 with a leaky emissions canister. I've been trying to get to it, but I can't seem to reach the screws for the clamps from the top or the bottom. What's the trick?

Looked at mine. On a 79 do you have 2 of them? Looked in my book second one near front bumper. Near as can tell on it bumper comes off then mesh grill please if wrong someone correct me. The rear one looks like a couple of7/16 bolts and a strap. Don't know if this answers your question if not give more info and will try again.

I have two cannisters - the one in the front was the problem. The bolts to the bumper was what I was missing. My lower fender and valence are bent up and under and I had a hard time shining a light down in there. Its out now and I can replace the hoses and the clamps. Although it looks as though the screw on cap is where the leak was actually coming from. Thanks
