...a really big pile of brush and logs........and fuel oil and gas........scared us for about 20 minutes...thought we were going to catch everything on fire, including the trees....we did lose my wifes recliner....it melted and it was 10 ft away......I wish I had gotten a photo.....but I was to busy dancing around in circles with a garden rake and chanting for buffalo.........

What did you do with your lavatories if you burned your vanities?

You know, Wyatt, I've never understood why, during this time of year, the Tea Party-ers didn't have big bonfires like some of the schools used to as adjuncts to rallies they could have. Think of all the fun of burning all sorts of stuff as surrogates for the real things folks don't like?? Could be a lot more fun than standing around in the rain or milling around the DC Mall.

BobM, pulling a permit from city hall might be kinda tuff with out connections....probably tie you up with EPA impact studies

Yes, I imagine you are right. Probably would get them in trouble with Homeland Security too.

I think the artist for that painting must have been standing on the other side of the aisle. Literally.

We're not allowed to burn stuff in our yard, stupid laws.
Instead, we have to put it out in the street and the city wastes a metric ass-ton of diesel fuel picking it up and taking it to the dump.

I miss that smell, burning leaves in the fall.

Scott, you need to move up here - burn anydamthing you want as long as the wind ain't blowin'. You can smoke your neighbors out of their yards and homes. I must admit, though, that I called the fire department when it was dry, windy and I started smelling smoke I couldn't see about a month ago, and ash started falling on my deck. Turned out, somebody was burning construction debris a couple of blocks away. Oh, did I mention, We live in the woods up here - full of dried leaves and peat a foot thick. The fire department made them put it out - 2nd time - I think a fine went with it since they'd been warned the day before.

You should have invited me. I'd have brought the B and poured Sea Foam Down the carb. The mosquito fogger cloud would have added to the overall effect. Was this fire in the "park".
