To install a new exhaust system (front to back), does it get welded or can I somehow fasten them so most of it can get welded off the car and then have it all get put together with one of those 3-bolt connectors?

I don't ever weld any part of a new exhaust system when I install one. I just use muffler clamps. If you weld and need to remove it for any reason you have to cut it up.

I installed the Peco 2" exhaust, front to rear with header. I used clamps as well. Trying to lift and manipulate a complete exhaust system seems like a real headache. I don't think you could turn and twist it into place. It has to go up and over the rear axle, fit pefectly into the notch in the cross member of the frame under the driver's seat and reach up and into a tight area to fit onto the head. One pice at a time is the way to go.

MGB exhause systems don't go over the rear axel.

Mine is welded everywhere except where it connects to the header pipe and I've removed it twice with no problems at all. To each his own, but I like it that way. Let me add this though. I would never weld up an original nor an aftermarket system such as a Peco, nor an aluminized system. When you weld an aluminized pipe you destroy the corrosion inhibiting properties at the weld.

Not over the rear axle? Hmm, shows how long its been since I was under there. I gotta pay more attention to it. My mistake.
