I have a 77 B that has be modified to dual Su Carbs and no cat. converter. The exhaust pipes bolt to a cast dual outlet
manifold. I would like to order a stainless 1 7/8" system from the manifold back with one muffler in the rear. Would this be the same as a 74 1/2 or older system?

i believe that you also have to get an intake system also, as the exhaust manifold and intake are cast as a one piece unit that cannot be seperated...so, basically anything pre cat converter should work if you went stock..
Richard,
If your cast iron exhast exits into a twin head pipe that later necks down to a single pipe, then what you've got is a standard pre-cat exhast. (I don't know what else someone would have put on, but you never know..).
If that's the case, then order your stainless exhast for a early seventies vintage car and you're in business. Make sure it comes with the head pipe sealing rings, some of them don't ( the good one's do). Also, be sure an check the condition of your exhast hangers, so you can order new at the same time if necessary.
Have fun, it's a piece of cake.

An exhaust system for a '62 to '74 will work fine right down to the mounting hardware.
Thanks fore the info. on the exhaust, it looked like the pre 74 system would work but I wasn't sure.
Thanks again
