So perhaps you may have noticed a thread in the MGB forum a couple of weeks ago in which I'm trying to find owner of a pair of 'C's being accompanied by a couple of goats in a field locally. They have apparently set there for some years. Any suggestions as how to approach the lady I think owns them and what I should say to get these "POS rust buckets out of your life" and perhaps salvage some unobtainium pieces. (heaven forbid I may salvage a whole car!!)
I'd drive up in the rattiest of your vehilces if any, not an LBC, tell her you've noticed the abandoned cars and wonder if she would like to be rid of them. Depending on her reply, you may ask for $25 each or both to haul away, do it for free.
If they are an eyesore for her, she'll say so and agree quickly to an offer. If she suspects they have value its a negotiation. If she is holding them for someone, it could be a long story, repeaded visits...aggrevating without meaning to...or worst case, a son who has always wanted these and will never do anything with them.
But you don't know until you ask.
