After weeks of waiting for all the parts to come together (took your advice and bought a header instead of the presumed MGA manifold). The header showed up today so off I went to the wasteground where I work on it (no working on cars on our condo complex) all went smoothly other than exhaust pipe which was Bubba-ised for now. Finished and it fired right up so I took it for a small drive HOLY CRAP its a different car.
SU's rule, especially after the worse condition ever ZS (Bubba-ised throttle lever, broken plastic slow running adjustment thing, loose throttle shaft, needle valve leaking, and basically pouring raw gas into the motor, writing this I'm suprised it ran at all). Even with the ear-splitting exhaust it sounded great and just seemed to take off. After becoming a little disheartened with it all I am back in love

Cool! My 79 is back in the shop to get redone to get it to quit running rich. I'm so heavily invested in that Z/S mess that changing isn't an option. But it sure sounds lilke a good idea!
