Got the first coat of primer on the A today. Never will I sandblast a car again. Very slow going and it took over 15 hours. At least that is on step out of the way. Here are a couple of pictures with the car primed.

Have a great Memorial Day! God Bless our TROOPS!!

Well, that's the first, gratifying step. Getting it all the same color again. Did you find any "forgotten" pockets of sanding grit while you were spraying?

No pockets of sand, probably blew the car off 10 times and vacuumed over and over. I am sure sand will come out of somewhere later. You are corerct it is gratifying to see the car getting primed.

Looks good Tom! I've got the first coat of primer on everything except my passenger rear fender. It's nice to see it coming back together.

Well how 'bout that, looks great. If you are going to fit a new grille do it now, before you paint. You will be glad you did.

Basil, anyone who has fit one of those chinese pos grilles and bled all over the scratches you put in the paint will know better next time.

Nothing like the good primers. We use Alkylyd resins on bridges because you cant use the lead paints anymore. Take a knife and see if you can scrape the primer off. It should be really bonded good.

Got to be serious to get that thing back together! Good work Tom.

Edit: I meant Zinc-Cromate primers and Alkylyd Resin top coats.
