Ye know the best thing about attempting to service my own car? I got to know so much more about it!

A few days ago I could drive it and that's it.
Since yesterday I've changed the engine, gearbox, differential oil, greased the front suspension, checked the brakes, fitted a new front shock, checked the coolant level,
topped up the carbs., and a few other bits. I'm sure there's more to do but I'm learning!

On the bad side I discovered some rust on the lower bottom of the fender (wing) which when I removed the splash panel had eaten some of the sill ends. Also the PO had patched a repair on the headlight surround. He seems to have stuck a bit of plastic in and covered it with underseal! Yuck!!

Also there are two wire terminals on the outside of the fuel tank. One is ready to break. The fuel line is covered in crud! but no leaks

Otherwise she looks good!

Any comments or recommendations?

That's how we all started. The more you do stuff the easier it gets.

Good start Willie. You'll be a pro wrencher in no time. Just post question when you aren't sure. That guy who posted above me knows an awful lot about these cars (and cars in general), so when in doubt, check with John.

Good start!
The more you wrench it the more fun you'll have. Keep hunting down and fixing those electrical problems and you'll save yourself future pain.
