I'm not sure if I am trying to fold the top incorrectly or what. I found a very good article on the net that showed more or less how to fold down the top. My problem is one of the bars appears to extend beyond the body of the car. I unlatched the front railing and folded the top to approximately half way on the doors. Disconnected the snap, etc on the back. Pulled the back section across the boot and folded in the quarter panel windows. Took the back section and folded it over the top making sure to include the rear wind screen in the fold. Not it doesn't appear to want to go down correctly. This is a pretty new top so I don't want to mess it up.
Advise greatly appreciated.
Terry

don't fold the back section over the top. let the back section fall down into the back area behind the seats as you lower the frame etc into this area. after the frame etc, is down, reach in behind the seats and pull the back of the top up and over the collapsed roof.
And all the top joints are free, not rusted/stuck together?
Terry,
Sounds like you're on the right track. I don't know if the site you found has pictures to help you visualise how to do it, I scanned a drawing from the owner's manual and put it on my site. One thing I've found on my car is that the middle transverse support (the one directly overhead) will tend to not fold rearward as you lower the hood, and thus the hood will not completely collapse. Anyway, I hope this helps:

I keep a couple of hand towels to throw between the side windows and the rear window so the plastic will not touch. Let it touch and it will rub a cloudy spot on the plactic. I also just let the rear of the top just slip down into the passenger area to keep from having to fold it up
They seem to move pretty freely. I will double check though to make sure. Thanks
It did have some photos but it really wasn't clear. My MG manuals don't really have anything helpful. Your site information is great. Thank You. I will give it another try.
I just folded my top yesterday and one bar does not seem to suck in until late in the fold.
