MGB: for the first time in like forever.

So for the first time in forever I get to be online and goof off which means I get to post on my most favorite site.
First all the computers in my house crashed at the same time, which is shocking because we have at least 4.
and I've also been working my butt off because I have two jobs, and am a full time college student. I work as
a hostess at applebees and work for my dad at gurnee tire and brake, and I have learned a lot about tires and brakes
and all the other fun things involved in cars. now I'm not an expert but at least now I don't feel so helpless all the time
when it comes to anything mechanical. Its fun working at the shop because I get to tell the techs what to do because i am
the one selling all the repair stuff.
any-who this is just a little post to say hi and let everyone know I didn't die.

More depressingly we had an Indian summer day today and my B is already put up for the winter because my sister and dad
insisted on putting it up at the shop, but today was pretty warm and sunny and would have made for a great drive. The day I put the B up
was interesting because it was really really really cold out, and I couldn't get the top up and decided to make the 45min drive to the shop
with the top down, needless to say it was a beautiful last drive, and I had 2 coats on and a scarf and mittens and a beanie, I was still cold but
it was a nice drive.
OH
and this summer when I wasn't as busy but pretty busy working at a barn and teaching kids how to ride horses, oh and I learned how to ride bareback and
I now wonder why I ever used a saddle in the first place. but that's besides the point
I decided to show my B in Nostalgia Days in Zion IL. BTW I was the only one with an MG which I found a bit sad. but my brother and I walked around for a
few hours talking to other car owners and enjoying the day, we get back to my car so we can go on the cruise around town. and my passenger back tire was flat.
and I had to try to figure out how to put the spare on with the original jack and tire, it was interesting because I've never used a jack like that before. But we had help from the
guys parked beside us and all. But I opted out of the cruise I wanted to get home at that point just because The spare tire is also the original spare tire and it had some dry-rotting on the wall going on, and if you've ever seen IL roads, you know what I am talking about because they have to be the most pot hole ridden disgusting roads on the planet that's why I always drive in Wisconsin on the back roads that aren't used and have no pot holes.

I had a great summer driving my little B.

As a senior in HS we have a ditch day and I opted to ditch which was a blast because I took my B kidnapped my little bro stole my grandpas fishing poles and went fishing all day.
it was a lot of fun driving around at random to find fishing holes. it was a blast.

sorry about the rambling but I haven't posted in so long and felt like I should get everything into this post but I am gonna cut it off here,

AND ask, How was your summer driving?

oh and yes by technicality I did kidnap my brother because I crossed state lines and was trespassing WOW we broke lots of laws that day when I think about it. I mean my grampa was on a cruise and so I did technically steal his fishing poles bait and all the other good stuff we did. Lots of fun

NO sir I did not, I had my fishing license from the year before from 08. It was sooooo much fun but I didn't realize how many laws I broke that day till I posted.
Its nice to see you too john I'm gonna try to get on more often now that things have settled down a bit.

You've got some great back roads in your part of the country. Ideal B driving....I enjoy cutting loose off the main roads and taking the less traveled when time permist. N IL has some great back roads....

Glad to see your back on board. I was jusy wondering what had happened to you the other day. I was afraid the "Dark Side" might have scared you away also. :)

John>>Yea, like I said just really busy and not much time to get online. So I thought about it the other day and
was like I bet they think I died or something

Kirks>>I'm in northern Illinois and a bit closer to chicago than I'd like to be with my B so since I'm on the border
of WI I like taking my B there cause there are not so many pot holes and theres not so much traffic. I love it when I
go for midnight drives with the top down of course and there is nothing out but the stars makes for a great drive.

Gee, you sound like you have a lot of fun and work hard, too. A good balance in life. Keep it up!

your either working hard or hardly working in my estimation, but I enjoy working
it gives me something to do,

see this is why I wanted to pop in and say hello you all thought I died, I'd like to
plan an road trip for my B but I need someone to go with me that's a bit more
mechanically wise than I am. And I would probably try to stick to back roads on this
trip, maybe I'll save up my money over winter and take a trip to Arkansas, it would be
nice to run the B through the mountains there. Iowa would be nice to, I just want
to go everywhere. Traveling is my dream in life

I think I remember a post where folks were asking about you. Good to see you back!
Summer driving was still a no go. I hoped to have the car ready by 9/25, then Oct. that would make two years, now I'm thinking Christmas. That would be a good gift for the wife since it was her late Grandpa's car.
Nice pic of you by the car.

Morris>>>That sure would make a great Christmas gift. My b-day is 4 days after that, on the 29th and
on my 17th b-day I walked into the shop and said I want that car, my dad said really??? I said yup, he said ok
its yours. I couldn't speak for the next few days unless the words were NO WAY...rotfl, Holidays are a great time to
give an MG.

George>>>I just replied, and also just walked in the door from the ceramics studio, I pulled an all nighter in the studio
I made some pretty awesome coffee mugs lord I do love coffee...haha I made over-sized coffee mugs

Peter>>>rest easy, we replaced them already. haha it was a fun experience though, quite a time, I also forgot
my sunscreen at home that day, well I am a very fair girl, The burn was so bad I ended up with some scarring.
thats why I leave the spray-on sunscreen in the B now.
