I purchased the movie "The Italian Job" and it is the pits. The only thing that I can figure is the blonde bombshell was you guy's entertainment and nothing else. Hey, it doesn't hold a light to "Old Yeller" :(

With that said I'll send the movie, postage paid and free, to the person that comes up with the best reason for wanting, needing it, or loving it.

Your turn :)

Naomi, you bought the wrong version of the Italian Job...that's the version with the wannabe Minis.

Did I really buy the wrong one? This one stars Mark Wahberg, Edward Norton, Donald Sutherland, and, of course, Charlize Theron.

The offer still stands and the person who comes up with the best answer gets it for free :)

NAOMI!!!! How the heck are your girl?? I'm not interested in the movie, but am THRILLED to see you posting again!! Are you going to go to Townsend TN this year?

You know, the other day at Wal-mart I found the original version of The Fast And The Furious for $1. I watched it with the boys, it was kinda bad, but alot of fun watching the Jags, MG's, Austin Healeys, etc.

The boys didn't understand tho' why everything was in black and white.

I would love to be there and I have big plans for this year. One of my goals is to meet as many of you as I can :)

The recent version of this movie is a remake of the 1969 version with Michael Caine, Noel Coward, and others. It featured real LBC mini's! I have not seen it, but like many remakes, the original might be better.

The original is one of the great car movies of all time! Minis, Jags, Aston and Lamborghini.

Well Naomi, I watched it soon after it came out in the theaters. I remember I liked it, but don't remember why. It was cool watching them drop that safe through the floor into the water and beefing up the Mini's to hold all that weight. But, honestly, I didn't remember the blonde bombshell. Strange, I remember the cars, but not the girls. OH NO I must be getting old! I think you better send it to me so I can see if there is any spark left :) ...then again maybe you shouldn't. It will probably just depress me.

I have the best reason to send it to me:

It has LBC's in it!

I have run out of clay pidgons for the season and I still have three rounds left in the skeet shotgun.

Because I am from deeper in the South than anyone on this board..
Any you are a southern lady...
And only a true southern gentleman would be truly grateful to assist a southern belle in need..I would take that awful move only in hopes of relieving your discomfort and gratefully having the Honor of taking on that burden so you don't have to endure the pains it has caused you and yours..

I vote you give it to Blake..
He's got style!
...or...something. ;)

Naomi: Please give that to Blake - I sure as heck don't want it! Or maybe the guy with the shotgun has a better idea. The original 1969 version IS worth seeing, though even though it has the world's worst ending. BTW, it sure is good to see your posts back here again! AL Bradley

Actually Blake, I may be a wee bit farther south than you. When I leave Nederland Texas I have to put a slight northern tilt on the wheel to make it to Lake Charles.

I did, however, greatly admire your answer and cast my vote for you to receive the movie.

Yeah it's a horrible movie. I saw it on a date, bad date, bad movie. The blonde was the only thing interesting that happened all evening.

The 1969 version was fantastic. Watched that with (another) girl, both liked it. Great movie, with real actors. I approve. I wanted to murder the seth green.

To whoever found a copy of the original fast and furious, want do buy another copy and send it to me?

Send it my way. My daughter would love to build a Mini and she thinks the movie has good shots of how it may be done. (She only wants a old Mini)

AH but Andy Texas ain't THE SOUTH.. Texas is Texas..

Don't really want the movie just liked the game..

Hiya Naomi. Well, since I'm Italian and need a Job (starving musician) it just makes sense to send it to me!

Ciao Bella,

LOL! That's right Blake, and as I try to explain to folks up here, anything south of Tallahassee, Florida isn't the South either, it's Florida.

Naomi,

You should send it to me because my wife LOVES that movie. She's always bugging me to rent it even though she's seen it three times. Also, she can watch it while I'm in the garage working on my mg and I won't feel guilty. Charlize Theron... wow.

Naomi- My unbelievably cute, smart, athletic and polite 10-year old son absolutely loves Mini's and specifically that movie featuring Mini's. Did I mention he loves the South and feels that it's as great as it is solely because of the women who live there? :) (O.K. his father is a liar and he has never been down South, but he does love the movie!) :D

The best part, some might say the only good part of that movie, is when Ms. Theiron drives the classic Rover Mini towards the beginning.

Oh, and BTW, when they load the cars onto "Amtrak" at the end of the movie..... That is actually a Union Pacific locomotive repair facility NOT open to passenger or freight traffic of any kind (I used to work there). Don't you just love how Hollywood makes it up to suit themselves.

Because I just bought a new dvd player!
Kim's movie jammed up in the old one, rental dvds jammed up in the old one (most irritatingly on Valentine's while Jane and I were trying to watch "The Notebook"), so I figured the dvd player was shot. We bought a replacement, hooked it up, and the dvd hung up just like before; the rentals come dirty! However, Kim's movie now plays flawlessly!
And, good to hear from you!

I have reviewed the wonderful and well thought responses, and have concluded that the feller from Lake Charles, is the deserving winner. Hope that Blake wins... sam c
