A year or so ago, one of the fine upstanding list members here offered me a sway bar - believe it was in the Philly area - but we never completed the transaction as I lost the name and address.
I want to put one on my car this winter to go with the new/rebuilt shocks. I would like to honor that original transaction if the member would present himself to me again.
Failing that, I am looking for an original type sway bar and end link set up - used is fine, and in fact preferable. I did put a later type front extension on with the divots for the bar fastenings for this purpose.
Thank you!

Jim, how much of a project is it to drop the front extensions to install the sway bar? I think I'm planning to do that, but haven't looked that carefully.
I have a 3/4" MGB sway bar, mounted to the bottom of the extensions, but on full turm, the sway bar links rub the tie rods. There's a fix, but it involves cutting about 3 inches out of the links and since I don't weld it is not an easy option for me. So when I'm feeling energetic some day, I was planning to drop the extensions and flip the sway bar up to the top. The bushings and the "housing" around the bushings are different though. I think those parts are available on CrateParts.com.
If all else fails, you might post a "want to buy" on the Trader and consider the B sway bar.
I put the Original Style bar on my MKII at that time Anglo Parts was the only place to get them. I believe that Cecelia has those bars now, so the shipping is much more reasonable.

I dont think earlier cars have the cutout on the front extention for a sway bar
Acording to Moss the indent started at Chassis 66574 (1600).
Barney has the dimensions needed to cut an earlier frame to clear the swaybar. (Is anyone surprised by that? I made the box section of the sills using his drawings and measurements - fit perfectly )
I have a new frame extension with the divots sitting here that'll go on my new 1500 car if anyone needs pictures. Basil 707.762.0974 basiladams@yahoo.com
I got a 1600 front extension to replace my original - which went to the other Jim in NH to use on his car.
Mine has a bit tear in it that I think happened when someone tried to tow the car out of a ditch using a chain looped through the opening - so I want to pull it out to finish welding that up anyway.
As long as you take the front valence off, I don't think it's too bad. My engine and radiator are out right now, so this is the time to do it!
