I need a pair of front hubs for a disc wheel 1600 MGA for use in a Magnette disc brake conversion. How do you tell a 1600 front hub from any other? What measurement or other feature is distinctive? If you have been following the posts on the parts in Newport News you may know that he has many hubs but doesn't know which are which.

Go to http://www.mgabrakes.com/ ..lookup the photos and you'll see the difference...the disc bolts to the hub....they are a direct replacment for the drumbrake hubs, same bearings etc etc...with the Green Brackets, a set of hubs and MGA discs and a pair of MGB calipers/discs etc its a couple of hours work and the brakes are sooooo much better...I'd tried everything with the drum brakes and in a word they were dangerous...the discs are actually quite good and I dont think even need a power booster...the drums are dreadful and dont let anyone tell you otherwise...even 1950's roadtests alluded the brakes needed excessive pedal pressure (like standing on the pedal til it felt like it'd brake)...hit the brake pedal softly with drums and it seems to feel like the accelerator pedal...DO IT NOW...
