Lucky me, the spade connectors and the harness leads on mine are the same size!
ground is the connector on the left, power is the one at 6 o'clock. wire brush or sandpaper clean those connector tabs to be sure of the contact.
I just reassembled my sender (it was locked up with varnish and the float arm was stuck). It looks like green with black tracer is hot and solid black is ground, according to the schematic for "later U.S. market" MGB... my '76 "B". On the same subject, my sender appears to be working now. My resistance readings are (low=20 ohms/high=200 ohms. Have I successfully resurrected the sender & saved myself the $30 bucks or so? Also, I saw green-colored grease on the internal spring used to keep pressure on the resistance windings pad. I didn't notice any seal for the case, just crimped tabs. Is the grease fuel proof?
In looking at the pic, it seems the spade on the left is mounted directly under the rivet (grounded?). The other one seems to disappear into the case (insulated?).
Geez! I didn't see the picture last night! This computer is much faster. I was thinking of the later style senders. Sorry!
I agree with the 6 o'clock being hot.
