I am having a problem that I believe to be fuel related. Can someone tell me if this looks to be the right amount of fuel to expect out of a pump that ran for fifteen seconds?

Thanks!

there's a spec in the Bentley. I don't have mine at the house so i can't look it up.
The SU pump is a low volume pump.. That looks about right to me... About 9 gal per hour per spec....... http://www.homepages.donobi.net/sufuelpumps/Fuel_Pumps/Fuel_pump_specs.pdf
I am trying to determine why my back two cylinders are being starved for fuel.
When I pull the either one of the front spark plug wires at idle, the car will die.
I can pull of both of the rear plugs (three and four) and there is no difference in how the car runs.
There is spark, and I have compression.
If I pull ALL of the plugs, and pour a teaspoon of gas into each of the rear cylinder bores, and ONLY hook back up cylinders three and four, the car will run, if only for a brief moment.
Also, I have the Moss Supercharger- no dual carb setup.
Forgot to add- the pump is a no name solid state type. It looks like one of the ones you might find on a modern car. It is about an inch diameter, and about five inches long, with fuel hose on both ends.
You need to check the rear carb.. Your getting enough fuel...Thinking stuck valve.. Wack the bowl with a screw driver handle..
Blake,
I have the Moss supercharger; only one carb, an HIF44.
If I start the car, pull the choke out for a few seconds (3000rpm with just choking action, no throttle) and then release the choke, the car will idle and rev normally for about three seconds.
I belive I either have a stuck float in the HIF6, or my pump just does not have the oomph left in it to pump under pressure.
(edited to correct HIF designation)
Andrew - A OEM SU pump for the MGB will pump 18 gallons per hour or 2.4 pints per minute. I have no idea what the after market pump you are using is putting out, but you should have somewhere close to the same volume if it a correct pump for use on the MGB.
Cheers,
A car of this sort will take about 40 pints per hour of fuel at Wide open throttle under full load. That's about 2/3 pint per minute. I could not tell what volume your flask is. If it's a pint flask, then you're just good enough under the mast demanding conditions.
Oops,,, I was wrong.. Not 9 gal per hour.. 18 would be correct....
looks like a quart jar from here
Andrew I would be looking for an air leak around the manifold. My Moss supercharger which has now been on the car for six years blew the square gasket between the blower and inlet manifold early in the piece. I made a gasket from better material and have had no more trouble. Another thing to look for is a crook dizy cap maybe cracked between 3+4 will show spark but miss fire on both cylinders. Check the tension on the manifold nuts first and the blow off valve nut, it should be tight.. Denis
