Any tips for safely storing my fuel tank for a few months while I have the car on the rotisserie? It's empty but i know the vapors are the biggest explosion risk.
Also, anthing i should do now to keep it from rusting up inside. right now it looks pretty good.
Thanks,
Rob

If the tank's in good shape and you're planning on re-using it (sounds like you are) this might be a good time to have it professionally cleaned out. If it were me I'd do this and then seal the inside if the tank with a good tank sealer. That'd get rid of the fumes and protect the inside from rusting in the future at the same time.

Let it air out, then run the exhaust end of a vacuum into it to blow fumes out. Tape over with duct tape and forget it.
I used Eastwoods "sloshing" sealant after mine was boiled - should be like new....Brandon
Take it to the local radiator shop and have it boiled out and lined. It's not expensive and you dont have to worry about the fumes or in my case the fumes from the foulist smelling liquid known to man.
When you seal the tank, how do you keep the pickup "clunk" from getting clogged up?
What ever you do, consider putting in a new float and sending unit. Easy as pie to do now!
Not all states will allow you to get your tank boiled anymore!!
