Yes, at long last, Gary has arrived in St. Louis. I have met him, hugged him, and held his hand. (Gary, man, what's that all about, anyway, eh?)
It's about 1:39 a.m., and I'm just back in the hotel room after a night of frivolity in the hotel parking lot, where a hundred or more MGs are parked, and people are just hanging out, drinking beer, opening hoods, and talking.
Chuck Cougill, Cole Brook, Tom Warren, Ken Lessig, Phil Needham and I were here to welcome Gary and Alida into the fold after their long flights.
The weather is great here, and the night is just beautiful.
Chas. is operating the Subaru as the Beer Wagon, with the hatchback open and serving a variety of refreshments to all comers
Chas. and I took part in the fun "Route 66" road rally this afternoon. It was supposed to be an 80-mile run, but somehow we logged 143 miles on the B. (Hmmmmmm. I don't think we were supposed to drive into Illinois....)
Gary says he has about two hours more work on his car when he gets back to Boise. Then he'll be breaking it in slowly, driving it to Pendleton, Ore., again to stop in at Chris's for its first oil change.
That's all to report tonight. Got to get some sleep. Tomorrow is the show, and we'll make sure to get a photo of everyone together.

Man, that sure sounds like a GREAT TIME! Drinking beer in a parking lot with a hundred MG's!!! SWWWWEEEET!!! (While I wade through an endless sea of lawns in rain-drenched SW Ohio, and my B languishes in limbo at the shop.)
Kim,
Thanks for yet another update. It is so good of you to take time out to keep us all updated.
Glad to hear that the now famous Gary arrived safely.
Have a great time.
Regards, Graham
Kim,
Thanks for the update. I've really enjoyed the trip. Looking forward to the photos.
Tell that Alabama boy (Tom W.) hello, glad to hear he made it.
Have a great day.
Alright! With Gary's luck, I had visions of his plane quitting, and doing an emergency landing on top of all those MG's.
What flavor of oil does he want, and which filter?
This trip should be written up for some magazine.
tell Chas thanks for the Rolling Rock, and the second, and the third..........
