When I acquired car (71 B) the cable was missing along with any number of other items. Am now ready to install and need help with the correct size wire to run power from battery to engine compartment. Any help would be appreciated.

Advance Autoparts sell ready-made battery cables up to 78 inches long for very little money, Autozone, Napa, etc probably stock them too.

The short negative cable to ground is 4 gauge, and the positive one running to the front seems to be the same gauge.

I just made up a set using #2 tinned marine cable....probably overkill, but works fine and it fits in all of the cable holders okay

I went to a welding shop to get the #4 wire for my MGA. They can cut it to the length you need and crimp on the ends.
