I have no financial interest in this transaction -
A guy I know just looked at a couple of cars in Anderson, CA 96007. They are listed on the Redding, CA Craigslist @ http://redding.craigslist.org/pts/1447790350.html. The owner has them in a storage unit (lost his former storage) and just wants to get rid of them (storage cost is high.)
They are a '71 MGB with a Toyota 22r w/ 5-speed and a '76 MGB with stock motor. The '71 is rough: floorboards NEED replacing, lower pannels rusted out, right fender was replaced (windshield is still off), hood is off, and trunk stuck closed. The '76 has a crunched hood, stock motor with smog hardware ('76 and newer are still required to be smogged in CA.) Both cars have (supposedly working) soft top frames. He said he also had more spare parts elsewhere.
If you buy them, you have to buy both, but could probably get the pair for a couple hundred.
I'd love to have that Toyota engine and tranny, but I have nowhere to store that much extra iron so I'm going to pass on this deal but it could be a great deal for someone..
