The law of averages says it has to happen. Bought a very ragged out 70 BGT for a parts car. Supposedly has a good engine and tranny. We put it on the trailer with a forklift and while it was up I took a look underneath. An OD tranny was a nice surprise. Finally, one of those rare occassions where you get more than you paid ($100) for.

Very cool! I'm having a good MG day too, my interior is going in great. I keep taking breaks to admire it!
Wray, does it have the licence plate lamps? I need the two glass lenses for my 70 B. VB's catalog has them in the catalog for$ 11 each. Let me know.
John, I'll check. I plan on stripping the car fairly quickly. It has an aluminum hood that the junkyard guy dented with the forkift a while back but may be repairable.. Most of the interior is intact. The tinworm has eaten most of the rest of the body.
It finally stopped raining here, and Saturday, was perfect for a topdown drive to Breaks Interstate Park(Ky/Va),where I intended to take both B's. Wasn't going to happen. The 79 developed a starter or ignition problem of some sort, and will now start only by rolling it down a hill and jumpstarting it. Haven't had time to check it out yet. I did drive the 71 bgt to the Breaks and she's running great. My friend, and his son, from Atlanta, followed in their Audi instead of the 79 B, as originally planned. Another beautiful day here, not a cloud in the sky. Temps are supposed to be in the 90s, by Tuesday. At least the easterners should have a nice drive back from St Louis.
