Got my bushings today. I can confirm that for $37 I got all the spring pads and all the spring bushings. Was a little suprised at the front eye bushing, in that it is 2 pieces. However, should be easier to install that way.

Do they appear to be machined or molded?

Steve,

As I recall, the were moulded. What is the difference.

And Greg, the fronts are easier to get in than the old ones are to get out!

I'd like to clean the springs up and paint them while I'm at it. To keep from unhooking brakelines, etc, can I just jack up the car and support on the subframe, then remove the springs while leaving the axle up on a jack or stands?

Molded poly bushings are made by pouring into a mold which is the desired size of the bushings. Machined bushings are poured into slightly oversized molds and then machined to the proper size. This makes them a more precise fit and less likely to have blemishes or variance between bushings. However it also makes them more expensive. If memory serves, Moss bushings are molded, Superflex are machined. Molded does not mean bad, but if you have fit problems then examine bushings before modifying the car.

Greg: Yes, you can place the car on jack stands, then support the axle with a floor jack. Remove axle straps, lower axle to the point where springs are neutral. Lower the axle down the rest of the way once the springs are removed.

Hey are they Poly Urethane? And can you confirm that they are from the www.suspension.com website?

I just bought the identical set, at Moss it was listed as 79.99 for the complete rear set. I paid slightly less at 62.99 from Atlanta Imported Auto Parts.

If it is similar in quality, the pro-thane are manufactured very well (my front LCA bushings from them were 15 years old and they looked brand new when I redid my front suspension during my resto), then that would be a great buy.

There another example of getting the product directly from the manufacturer. I wonder if they sell to retail parts stores or only directly to the public. A lot of times there retail customers will force the wholesaler to sell at retail prices to the public in order to make there products appealing to the public.

Good Deal! that's about half what I paid for the prothane.
