Found it on Kijiji up here. Needed a third vehicle for the 20 year old who is trying to figure out what he is going to do in life. It will be for him to be able to go to his job, when he gets a job.. as there is no way in or out of our small town without a vehicle.
Actually.. it is a 1993 Mazda B2200. 150,000 km on it. Original owners who gave me every piece of paper and work orders having to do with the truck. Well maintained, little rust (except for the bumpers which are quite rusty) and the old fella drove it the 25 km down to our place yesterday. It passed the "Drive Clean" testing in Oct. 08 but unfortunately it is only good for one year. 900 km on it since then as the owner suffered a heart attack and hasn't driven it since June 09.
Hopefully it will last a couple years. Oh.. Got it for $400.00 :)

Never heard too much bad about them. Same as Ford Ranger and mine held up strong with no probs til I sold it. Luck to your son. I have one of those 'searching' as well.

I ran the wheels off an old B2000. The only problem I ever had was that the exhaust systems would rot off after about 2 years. Good, basic little trucks.

That is interesting you say that. This truck is on it's third complete exhaust system and there is only 150,000km on it. Brand new Cat. put on in June as well. My 04 Pontiac Grand Am had 260,000 km on it with the original exhaust system, when I traded it in a couple months ago.
The truck is up at the shop to be certified. Hopefully I will get the temp. plate today and Etest next week, and teach the kid how to drive stick this weekend.

After trashing about 4 stock exhaust systems, I took it to a muffler shop and had them bend up a simple system using a turbo muffler blank and ran the tailpipe out the driver's side under the bed, just behind the cab. In PA, where I lived at that time that's all that was required for a truck to pass inspection. That system lasted.
