I'm glad that they're leaving her on the bottom out of respect to those lost on her....but it WOULD be kinda neat to have her raised and put on display.
I saw that in the news this morning. Amazing how well preserved it is.
I'd like to see them raise it, how else are we really going to benefit from the historical aspect? Pictures and video only go so far.
here is another link John with a few more photos

I hope they raise it. I saw a ship in the Smithsonian that was raised and it was really neat to see the real thing instead of a model.
A much better link and article Ken.. Thanks for posting.

If raised? It would make a wonderful "bookend" to the USS Constitution moored in Boston harbour.....

I wonder how many millions it would take to make it "sea-worthy" so that it would not deteriorate after exposure to air???
Fabulous discovery. My youngest daughter and I visit Old Fort Niagara every summer. This will add an extra dimension to this year's trip.
Raising that amazing ship would desecrate the graves of the men "buried" there, so the finders of the shipwreck argue. It would cost a ton of money, too. It would be neat, though to restore it.
