Eric Marshall

Visiting the in-laws over the weekend, my father-in-law (he of the 1934 Ford Pickup and 1936 Buick Century) asked why some cars were positive ground? I know that most 50's and early 60's British cars were pos ground, then switched to negative. I always thought the pos ground thing was for corrosion reasons (less electrolytic action?) but that didn't seem to stop 'em rusting! He said old Chevy's were all neg ground where Fords where positive - could it be they just did it to be different?

Your comments please........
