We had exactly NO trick-or-treaters last night. NADA.

That's a first for us. I walked around the neighborhood at 8:30 and I didn't even see anyone else out at all.

Is it a swine flue scare? crime? I'm just baffled.

We had a few but we haven't had a lot for quite a few years. We've started turning off the "welcome" light at 8 PM because after that time we began getting visitors who were bigger than us, not older, just bigger. We didn't like wondering what tricks some of them may be up to some night.

Maybe they all went to the White House...understand they had 2000 visitors and the chef made them a cookie each....
I would have been more interested in the security for the event but no mention...

...we never do...our road has gotten quite busy over the years, so I put on a robe and a mask and knock on the windows and doors and my wife hands me candy at the different doors. Works out real well for us...she gets to hand out candy to the goblins, and the goblin gets all the candy. This year Almond Joy Jrs.. A goblin is eating one as I type............ok many as I type.

Was it raining like a cow pissing on a flat rock?

I have had none since moving to my present address 18 years ago. My old neighborhood had scads of them, but not here. I think it's too dark and the homes too far apart. Plus we're on a killer hill.

We had quite a few but things stopped at about 9. Most of the kids were smaller
and the parents were at the end of the driveway waiting for them. I have to caution them
not cross our front lawn but go down the driveway to go to the next house because if they don 't
they will end up in the creek that runs between our houses. One young guy told me not to
worry because he already found out the hard way that it was there.
We do have a few candy bars left over that Nancy will devour with no help from me.
She's the chocoholic in our house. I'm not a sweet eater due to past family medical history.
No sweets for me.

We had 31; a lot more than the past few years. Mostly little kids with their parents; a few in their mid-teens. Weather was good and it was a Saturday. We have a wooded ravine across the street and few streetlights, so I have the porch light on, the main door open, and the outside spotlights on to light up the yard. Safety, y'know. Turned out the light at 2100, but hadn't had any visitors since 2030. This is first time we almost ran out of goodies. Usually we overbuy; well my other half overbuys, but she's not fooling anyone - we're both chocoholics.

Our numbers were down, but over on main street, they had a big bash of some sorts, so they all probably went there. Can't blame them!

We turned off all the lights and put the cars away and went out to see the movie, Amelia. First time in years we did not particpate in T & T. When we did in years past we noticed car loads of kids being carried in from other nieghborhoods.

NO trick-or-treaters at our house for the last 7 years - that's when the only kid on our street turned teen age and thought dressing up for candy wasn't cool any longer. We still buy candy, tons of it actually. That's because about 6 years ago we mobilized local classic car owners to participate in the Halloween parade our local fire department holds every year. We slowly roll the 1 1/2 mile parade through the village and throw out about 7 lbs of candy to the kids lining the streets. Just as much fun!

We had about 120 this year. Mostly 13 and under with a few self concious teens who are
having trouble kicking the Trick or Treat habit.
The numbers are down from a few years ago, we used to regularly get over 150 kids.
My wife blames Sergeant Jim, my WW1 mannequin who sits in the window with a bayonet through his head.
He seems to bother the parents more than the kids though!

Cheers,
Rich
