Yesh! If you're looking for "NO" votes, that's the pic to use! :D
I've seen some decent examples. It'd be interesting to see more....
Is that image photoshop or has it really been painted.
Two tone has a place but those two colours i dont like.
Take for example a Healey or a Corvette, T Types, Magnettes. They are good examples.
I took a picture of a blue MGB and doctored the photo. You don't have to like the colors , everyone likes different colors. The idea of a two tone MGB is what I was asking about. I just have never seen one that wasn't a solid color ( other than stripes ) . I searched the internet and could not find one and wondered what one would look like so I made that picture. I thought I would put it up here and see what others would think of it. Maybe this would be more to your liking.

Do wide racing stripes count?
I always had a particular fondness tor this paint scheme.
I've used a paint program to try different 2 tone paint schemes for my V8 project, but I haven't really found one I like enough to try. The rear of the car is the problem I run into, the natural body seams don't fall in the correct spot for the paint break. I really like dark colors, so I was toying with black below the trim line, with a real dark purple above. I'd eliminate the trim and just use a dark red pinstripe to separate the colors. It looks good on the computer, but I'm not sure enough to commit.
I made front and back pictures too. I was wondering about where to brake it too. This is what i came up with it the back, but you could with a chrome bumper car make the brake at the bumper in the rear.

Easier to do with a GT...doesn't look so much like it's been "dipped" in a vat of paint.

Scot,
No, I have seen a lot of B's with stripes. I am talking about a true two tone paint job. I am almost 100 percent sure none came factory and I have not see any B's painted in a true two tone type paint job. I'm not talking about wild flame jobs and such either. I see from post that others have thought about it too, but has anybody really done one. I think it could look great on a B and would look like it was made for it. A chrome bumper car would be best , braking at the rear bumper and in front at the line from the headlight to the front of the hood. This makes for a interesting thread anyway and I like things that are different. Who wants to see their self coming down the street........dare to be different.
Will
Front view....
Alright someone just posted a picture of a GT with a two tone paint job. It is interesting where they chose to put the breaks , I like it , well done !
Will
Good thread Will. The blue/silver chrome bumper sample looks  good.
Thanks Tony,
Did you get a look at the silver and purple Gt , great job ! There is someone that will not see themselves coming down the street, Ya Got To Love It ! Rick is that your GT or one you took or found a picture of. It is the first one I have see painted with a real two tone paint job.
Will
It is my GT, Will. A long ongoing work in progress.

......it wouldn't be if you'd learn to stay out of hospitals.....
Rick,
It's your Gt , you lucky dog. Looks great Rick and I hope you have it a going soon. I bet you don't see yourself coming down the street, I like things that are unique !
Body looks nice and straight , great paint job !
Will

Generally the lighter colors look better above the darker colors.
I like that blue/silver combo. I'm not sure if the colors were reversed.
John

Rick, you now have two MGB's with two tone paint jobs. Your MGC is also two tone, Red with a white top.
Glad that the GT is coming along nicely. Rick
Wow the two tones are coming out of the wood work . I like exploring new and different ideas . Whether you like the darker on the bottom better or on the top , you have to love the way everyone has a different style and taste . There is something I like about this one and something I like about that one and what I make some will like some won't , the main thing is to make what you want, unless you are making it to sell !
Thanks for all the input ............Will
maybe i should paint the lower half gray to match the interior?
Years ago at the Colorado English Motoring Conclave (1992-93). there was a B roadster done in a two tone paint job. It belonged to a very friendly woman who built the car "her way". It had '56 for chrome trim instead of the MGB chrpme. It was a set of NOS chrome that was trimmed to fit the B. Now for the good part: It was hot pink above the chrome and white below. It would not have been my choice of colors, but the level of workmanship and finish was outstanding.
Here is a pic of a 56 for as an example.

Bruce,
Let's see if I get this right. She took the chome off a '56 Fairlane and put in on the B?

I'm really glad you couldn't find a picture of her MG
The pink and white MG really polarized the people there.
Bruce
along with '56 ford chrome trim......and requisite "polarized" sunglasses!
I found a three tone, I don't really like this , but someone did ! This is getting crazy , is that really an mgb or is someone pulling our leg with a picture of a 56 ford , looks like it has a back seat to me !

Ed,
Do you have any pics of that GT from the back or the front? I'm interested to see how the broke the lines.
Here's the front view. I don't remember how the paint was broken in the rear.
Will,
You have started and interesting topic  I likes the pictures of the B with the silver on the bottom, blue on top. I am not really sure if you would need to bring the secondary bottom color to the back of the car. Maybe just bring the color line down from the rear tail lamp.
I have a B that will be repainted the Brooklands Green color and I an now thinking that a bottom half of Silver might look good
JR
Jon,
I agree with you on the back , either no bottom color or maybe on the rear valance only, that would give a clean break.
