These are the Dayton "Rudge" drive wire wheels. Anyone use them, any idea of the cost? Thanks, Lloyd

If you go to their website they have pricing. I believe for a B they're $562 ea. which includes the adaptor and knock-off. Pretty expensive but they look very nice. When I have nothing better to spend my money on I think I'll consider them.

Lloyd, what kind of wire wheels did Mike have on his V-8 MGB up at Waynesboro? These?

Don't think so, but they looked very nice.

A "Rudge" wheel, IIRC, is pin-drive rather like an early 300SL or even MGA Twin Cam rather than spline drive like a B...

that is there are x number of pins on the hub that engage holes in the center of the wheel to lock them in place, usually using a know=ck-off cap to secure then. Not necessarily wire spokes, more often solid steel/alloy (like the 300SL or Twin Cam.

Is that what these wheels are?

I checked out their site and they are not pins. The adaptor that bolts to the hub looks somewhat like a sprocket.

"Rudge" wheel---what they called it. Great looking wheel, reported to be very strong.

The Dayton site calls the MGB knock off type a Rudge type wheel.

The wheels we're talking about aren't pin-drive, rather it uses those big "sprocket" teeth to drive the wheel, rather than the small splines as original--probably does last better, but I've no first-hand experience with them.

"Rudge" is simply the man who invented knock-offs as we know them, and sold them, first under the Rudge-Whitworth aegis. I've heard people use "Rudge" to simply mean real knock-offs as opposed to bolt-on wires.
Actual Rudge wheels are incredibly expensive now: http://www.hemmings.com/hmn/stories/2006/04/01/hmn_feature13.html

If I had $2500 burning a hole in my pocket I would probably put a set on my car.
