so it is my monthly systems check and the lights on the right side inop, plate and tail light....directional ok break ok, just tail....so before I get too bogged down....pop the hood and give a spin to the fuses...all four turned in the holder and the lights went on all is well.....so I took my own advice for a change.

Talking about a B fixing it's self. I had a car in my shop last week that I had done some work on. I fired it up to check it out. When I run it through gears I got a HELL!!!!!! of a noise from the rear end of the car. I hate it when that happens because when I call the customer quess what's the first thing that comes out of their mouth. You guessed it," It was ok when I brought it to your shop." I put off calling the customer till the next day because I just didn't want to have to tell him he was looking at maybe 1000-1500 dollars to fix it. The next morning I fired her up and went through the gears and NO NOISE.
I told the customer about it when he picked up his car, and guess what he said, YEP you guessed it. I told him it's not making it now and don't ask what it was because I don't have a clue.
Jerry, here's something I've always wondered about. Would diaelectric (SP?) grease cut down or eliminate the corrosion problems with the fuses?
Shawn Escue
I use bulb grease...but dialectric would most likely work also. And Tom...I used to recommend a trip around the block with the customer driving to get an idea of the customer, the car's personality and those "it worked when I brought it there" items.
Then I put it on the repair order in the notes section so customer can see it and know it was there. But sometimes sh happens and as long as it is not perceived as a set up by the customer it can be repaired if the customer is made aware of it and usually they do not mind paying...most are greatful in my old experience.
