My buddy and I have been trying to bleed the clutch system on a CB midget no luck getting a pedal. The throw out fork moves about 3/8 in and clutch won't engage.New master and slave and hose.how do you get air out?We tried hanging slave down and bleeding. We tried tilting master up and bleeding still no luck.Anyone else had this problem?4 hours and no luck

wont disengage ? Blleeding can be a pain, I use a preesure bleed. Or you can get a big syringe and pump fluid up to the master.

Tru jamming the fork so that it pushes the rod all the way into the cylinder.. This way you are not trying to get air out of the cylinder itself, but just out of hte lines.

Having done this too many times, I am convinced that once air enters the cylinder, it will not come out with conventional bleeding.

You also gotta love the engineer who located the bleed screw where it is!

follow this sequence. have lid off resovoir. make sure clutch pedal is pushed to the floor when bleeding. then release the clutch pedal before closing bleed valve. then push the slave cylinder rod back into cylinder. put lid back on resovoir. you should have a nice pedal.

see my previous posts on this issue
power blead is the best but you can unbolt the cyl then tilt up so it is higher than the line they work the plundger with your hand. this worked on my car last month.
another trick my mech neighbor said is to park on a bot of a hill with nose tillted up so the resovor is higher than the line and crack open the blead valve.
the problem is the line is lage enough to have the air ride on top of the fluid and stay there.

Did , you bench bleed the master before you installed it?

you'll need to bleed the master seperately.

How are you going about bleeding it?

I would attach a length of clear hose to an open bleed nipple, put the end submerged into a jar 1/3 full of fluid (or enough to cover the hose) and then pump the pedle untill you can't see any more air coming out of the hose.

that's the best way to do it!
