The Moss (MGB-12, page 68) catalog lists three possibilities:

Flamenco Red (Orange Red) 1975-77 Factory code =BLVC 133
Ditzler # 72144
DuPont # 43661

Damask Red (Maroon) 73-77 BLVC 99
Ditzler # 71064
DuPont # 8819

Bracken (Muddy Orange) 74-76 BLVC 93
Ditzler # 60760
DuPont # 43275

An auto paint store ought to have sample books so you can determine which shade you prefer. Just make sure that you look at the books in daylight. Fluorescent or incandescent light will drastically change the appearance.

A Heritage Certificate would tell you the original color of your car, so you can match it exactly, if you are concerned with originality. If not, paint whatever color suits your eye.

Look in the trunk or door jam to see which one of the colors matches up.
