I would like some HIF experts to tell me which jet is right, I purchased these carbs and these are the jets that were installed.
See next post for the other jets installed, thanks

The jets in the 1st/top photo are the type in every HIF$ that I've pulled apart as well as in several rebuild kits. They have the right angle in the fuel bowl. That said there still can be differences. I recently was cleaning/partially rebuilding a set and couldn't get both to the same 'tuning starting' position with the top of the jet flush with the 'bridge' in the throat. After much cussing I removed both jets and realized that one was longer than the other. The long one was contacting the bottom plate before the top could get all the way down to the bridge. I installed a new pair of jets from a couple of rebuid kits I happened to have. (Note: some rebuild kits these days do not come with new jets) Its hard to tell without fully removing the jets. While the jets are either 'front' or 'rear', I'd certainly check them since they are two different colors.
your pic#1 is right. black is "right" and white is "left" on a RHD car, translated to front and rear.
The jets in a HIF4 are front/rear designated, thats what you have in the first photo, somewhere along the line some manufactuer decided to make a HIF jet that could work in the front or rear carb, thats what you have in the second photo, technically either will work, I get my SU parts from Joe Curto and he supplies the type in the first photo.
I used to work for a manufacturer of these jets. The white ones are for the front carb. There was a large run of these that were defective from both us, and the other guys, where the aluminum tube would pull up out of the plastic enough to make adjustment "difficult". I'm sure there are quite a few thousand of those jets in the field still.
We used to recommend cutting the angled pickup off at a 45* right at the elbow to help avoid starvation on hard cornering.
