quick question. my wipers work when the ignition is on auxillary but not when the car is actually running. i checked the fuses as i thought this is where the problem would lie but they all looked good. what next. someone put the wrong wires on the wrong fuse? i didnt think the switch itself would be to blame in this case. thanks in advance

Model year?

Is there anything else not working? Heater fan? Brake lights? Reverse lights? Turn signals? Washers?

its a 1974 mgb roadster. the only other thing that doesnt work is the washer pump. not sure if its related or if i just have a bad pump.

My wipers work, but the pump doesn't so I don't think they are necessarily related.

The wipers are suppose to have power when the ignition switch is in either the accessory position or the run position. Check the ignition switch to see if there is power to the white/green wire when in the accessory and run positions.
Wiring diagrams are available at http://www.advanceautowire.com click on stock schematics. Make yourself an enlarged copy and use it as a guide to trace the circuit.
As you check the circuit, clean each connection and use dielectric grease to prevent future corrosion. Don't forget the ground connections.
