I have my fan switch out, tested fine. I'm not sure why my fan isn't working though. That said, it has never worked for me. How do test the heater fan.
Many thanks.
Russ

GO ,,to radio shack and get a handful of color coded jumpers,,the long ones ,,larger gauge
about six for about 5 dollars..
Jump from brown wire on fuse block to motor power wire ,see if it runs (dont need the key on )
If the motor is fried, is it a big job to replace? More importantly, how easy/difficult is it to replace.
Thanks.
Get a 12 volt power source and there should be two wires coming out of the fan motor at the heater box under the hood. Pull the two wires out of their connectors and connect with jumper wires to the 12volt source. Fan should run if ok. It would probably be a good idea to look at a wiring diagram to determine which of the two wires is the positive and which is the negative. Let us know how it goes.

It is fairly easy to replace the motor with the heater box left in the car. Taking the whole heater box out is always a pain.
Pull the 2 wires as they go into the heater.
Put 12 v on 1 and earth the other.
It does not matter which.
See if fan blows.
When you plug it back in, it will probably run, because you have just cleaned the connectors by pulling apart and pushing back in.
x2 on the 12 volt source, but you could even use a 9 volt ballery to run it.
Don't assume that it's blown, though, if it doesn't run. Mine wouldn't run, so I stripped it down, cleaned out the old grease, re-lubed, and got a working fan.
BTW, be careful removing the squirrel cage if you try this. It will come off with coaxing, but it's easy to crack. I used a flat blade and small piece of wood as a block and slowly levered it off (with only a little crack ;) ).
