I tried to doing a search, but was unsuccessful. My shifter needs a good powder coating.

What he said - except - it's only three bolts holding the shifter down, and the most important thing to note is the orientation of the plate under the three bolts, if you put it back wrong you can have problems.
Mike is correct about 3 screws holding the retaining plate. Watching tv and typing and I never can hit the correct number keys....
They're all the same length, but you have to be careful not to loose the small tensioning springs that are under each bolt. Also as you raise the shifter out, do it slowly as there is a spring loaded brass plunger that presses against the side of the shifter to prevent the shaft from rattling. Once the shifter is removed, pull the plunger and spring out and store in a safe place where they won't get misplaced. RAY
One of the SCREWS holding the chrome ring is shorter than the other three. I think that it goes in the front hole.
More important than ANYTHING else is to NOT DRP any of this stuff down into the cross member. If you do you will turn a fifteen minute job into a greasy hour long, f you ar lucky, ordeal.

Related question: Is the shift lever from a 3 synch (either the crooked non-OD or the straight OD lever) and a 4 synch transmission interchangeable? I believe each has a separate thread and pitch, which impacts the type of shift knob that may be used.
I think the distance between the large and small ball is different
