Unscrew the nuts to separate the halves and then you can get the cable free from the bracket.

Hi, Thank you all. I got the brackets out from the cables. Can you seperate the 2 halves? I would like to remove the dog ears so I can blast them. It seems like it could be a bearing holding them. I have threads on boths sides and the nuts have been removed.

thanks brad

Chris said it. Take the bolt out and the thing falls apart. Yours looks a tad rusty so you might have to soak over night with PB Blaster. You can media blast the parts or just clean it up with a wire wheel.

Fixing this as you are obviously doing is ESSENTIAL to the proper operation of the parking brake. If you aren't already doing it, you should just replace the cable, The cable stop down at the lower corner next to the passenger seat is a PITA to deal with but you can do this. LOL

That pivot bolt is generally seized in place pretty well. Heat helps, but if I recall its a special shoulder bolt, so be cafreful with it! :D
