Cruising along , went for 4th and it won't go in. The shifter stops , like 4th was never there. Any ideas?

How about the other gears? Sounds like a linkage problem. How much slop is there in the shift lever? Could just be the bushing worn out on the bottom of the lever. Hope it's something simple. Item 60 in the Moss diagram. http://www.mossmotors.com/Shop/ViewProducts.aspx?PlateIndexID=29287

It feels like a linkage problem, from third ,you can get to nuetral then it stops. The shifter is tight. I pulled it and saw nothing obvious. Was hoping to get the B running before I had to tear into the Sprite again.

after high humidity i have had the problem of the shifter ball sort of rusting abit and i have used wd40 but then again you'd find it owould be stiff shiftin in all gears.
