1. How do you get the spacers (grommets) on the transmission mounts. It would appear that the small end should go through the hole but alas it is too large. I thought of compressing it with a hose clamp and pushing it in. ???

2. Can I put the timing chain cover and harmonic balancer with the timing pointer on top off a 18gk 1971 engine on a 18gh 1970 engine ??? This is to achieve the timing marks being on top of the engine and keep my old butt off the floor.

Your questions are correct! You do know them.
1) use the slipperiest soap, lube etc. you can find, squish, push in one side and continue around. Be careful not to tear
the edges. I've heard of a string trick but dont know it.

2)Excellent question, I suppose if the key is in the same position when assembled, it would work.
Best leave this one for somebody who has done it or at least tried.

String trick works.. Soap it up wrap string in groove, feed string through hole, push bushing and pull string.

You can do the cover and pulley swap. Just use the corresponding oil thrower inside the cover. No idea what using the wrong one will do, but I was given this advice when I did mine so I will pass it along!
