'76 Midget USA GAN6UG. Spring in switch broken--key "floats" in lock. Removed plug on left side and all little screws--can't get ignition switch to pull out. I know it can be done because I did it about 10 years ago w/o pulling apart entire steering lock mechanism. What am I missing??

I don't know personally, but there is a youtube video of a guy named "Joness" or something like that and he takes apart the ignition switch and door locks and all kinds of stuff.
You might want to check those out.
He's a little bit of a hermit looking guy, always in the basement and always wearing a trench coat, but his videos are pretty good.
