MGB: Interesting Find (New Spitfire Body)

I was out for a little drive today, and took a road I don't take much, and under a car port was what looked like a spitfire in primer. I turned and went back to look naturally. The fellow that owned it came out and in the course of our conversation I learned that it was a crated body that he had bought new from the Roadster Factory in 1993. The car is still in its original shipping crate. He told me he paid $2600 for it and picked it up himself. He had a RB MG that he told me I could have for $100 bucks and he also had a lot of TR3 parts which he said I could have for $100 bucks along with a good assortment of Spitfire parts. An interesting Character and an hour well spent.

So, did you buy anything?

I'm going to buy the MGB and probably the TR3 stuff. I tried to talk him out of the crated Spitfire body but he's not quite ready to let go yet. He did say once that he might let it go for what he had in it ($3,000 Bucks) I'm naturally going to stay in contact. The body on The TR 3 is about shot but he say the engine and running gear are in good shape.
