Seats will be next. Will be done by Albany Auto Interior. The guy who owns it has an MGB that's been sitting for several years.

Just thought this might be of interest. This is what I used to make the piping.

I used the same thing to try making piping myself. Also tried some of the smaller diameter cording from the material shop but it was more expensive. When I took apart the hubbys door panels it was more like weed eater string too. Nice job on the sewing :).

Who knows.... Maybe it'll inspire him to restart his own project. :)

That's looking very good. I'm always struck by the talents of people on this board. Definitely nice work.

Very nice work! Just shows that Moss is not the only one capable of quality work.

I always thought that was a bad place for piping. It rubs my forearm when I shift gears (my shifter has been shortened).

Great job with the upholstery work!

Looking good!

What sewing machine needle foot did you use to get the stitching snug against the piping?

Mick & Susan,

You are both doing a great job on that B of yours and I am sure you are very proud of it too as you should be!

Cheers,

Rob

Looks really nice. Never thought about making my own piping.. The fabric store near my house has the matching red piping in stock that is a near match to the red piping on my interior. When I get ready to do the door panels I'll send all the materials your way....LOL
Keep it up Mick , seriously, it looks great!

Thanks for all the nice comments folks.
The piping is really very easy. After starting over many times and messing up material and wasting thread, I remembered reading something about using a piece of paper under the foot. All the difference in the world. It is so easy now.

BTW, the Zipper Foot can be adjusted to either side of the needle.
