Well I ordered the complete interior kit from Brit Tek... the problem is there are no instructions. There is still a second box that is suppose to arrive with the bottom cushions.... I am hoping there are some instructions in there. But in case there isn't, can someone point me in the right direction? My biggest puzzle is going to be figuring out where all those different carpet pieces go.
Thanks in advance
Terry

That should do the trick on the carpet. Do all the pieces glue down except for the area over the battery section?
You wouldn't know a wonder site like this for doing the seat covers would you?
Thanks

Glued down Pieces: Wheel wells, rockers, vertical section directly behind the seats.
Not glued down: Batter cover (I find velcrow works best), Floors (snap down), Front of Foot well (vertical) screwed in, Tranny Tunnel.

Correct me it I am wrong guys, I installed my own carpet by cutting the pieces, but this is the way it was origionally as far as I remember.

This is for a triumph but I imagine it should be relatively the same.

Good Luck

VB puts out a nice interior restoration pamphlet. Free. The idea, I'm sure, is to get you to buy THEIR kit, but hey, maybe next time.

Terry -- I'm emailing you the diagram that came with my carpet kit from Moss. It's a little more clear.

As Liam says, only glue down those things that need glueing, and go lightly on the adhesive. (No need to overdue; you might want to pull it up some day.)

For what it's worth, I didn't bother even with the snaps on the floor pieces. (Too lazy to rivet down the male snaps on the floor.) They just lie there loose, but I almost always have the heavy AMCO rubber mats on top of them, to keep them tidy.

Do think about putting down heatshield insulation under the carpet, especially on tranny tunnel, floorboards and firewall. Made a huge difference in the comfort level of my car.

I was looking at the Brit Tek kit, it is a pretty good deal compared to piecing the interior from Moss. Is the set pretty good? Also, is the carpet knitted loose like the factory carpet?Blake Sonnier wrote:

I had the Deluxe kit and was not at all happy with it. Just could not get the tunnel and rear fender covers (71BGT) to install without wrinkles. I ripped it all out and got an OEM style kit and loved the qaulity increase. Compared to the OEM stuff, the deluxe is trash. I still have the first kit I bought in a box and don't know what I will do with it.

The VB set is pretty good, and the colored illustrations with the instruction booklet is great... I got the whole interior set, seats, carpet, etc. Get the 3 M spray adhesive, and use sparingly.

Thanks Kim - I got the diagram. I really do appreciate everyone's help on this stuff. Everyone is great.

If it's not too much trouble that would be great. Kim sent me a diagram that she had from her kit. Between the two of them I should be good to go.

I bought the complete deluxe kit because I needed door panels and seats, foam, the works. I must admit that the quality of the carpet is not equal to the quality I got from Newton Commercial for my Morris Minor. But if you had seen what was in my MG before I ripped it out this stuff is great. Newton Commercial didn't have this for the MG so I went with what I thought was a good choice.
Perhaps if I get another MG I will send for samples first.
