As I'm removing the sequential seat belt wiring mess, I found some interesting connections. Did the factory solder the brown wires and tape them up with super-sticky electrical tape? And I found black wires stuffed into a rubber tube with a rubber plug in the end.Factory?
Is this part of Factory Wiring?

The ground wires in your other picture are for real, but I don't remember ever seeing brown done like this! They are hot all the time!
The brown wires are not factory, not that I can remember for our 77' anyhow.
The black is factory.
Where are those brown wires looks like behind the console?
If you go to Advanced Auto Wire site you can find color diagrams for your year. Those connections will be identified by a dot on the diagrams.
I've noticed the "dots" on all wiring diagrams, and looked for something more technical for a connection. I'll go for the black(ground) wires, but I think one of the PO's did the brown(hot) wires. Maybe?

Note.
1) there are lots of diagrams in the deck you will download.
2) Each model year has two pages (important to realize)
3) Works best if you can print out those needed pages in color. If you can't, I'd suggest you take the file to someplace that can for long term use. IIRC they are 11x17. It WILL work to reduce to fit (in Acrobat print dialog) an 8-1/2x11 page and will still be legible. (that's what I did, and laminated them for use in the shop)
On the Advanced diagram for 73/74 US Market, they show the intersection of the 5 brown wires located by the alternator, starter, starter relay, and ignition switch. I guess that's to make it simpler to understand where all the wires go. But really they're taped up inside the loom behind the glove box!
Is that where the factory had originally placed a disconnect for shipping? I have a plastic rectangle connector instead of the soldering. It think PO removed the connector and soldered the connection.

Now that's a great idea! I'll order a connector from British Wiring, along with the other items I'm getting. I'll use a connector for the brown wires, and just re-tape the black ones in electrical tape, and put them back in the loom where I found them, wrapped in blue tape.
THANKS FOR THE IDEAS AND RESPONSES, EVERYONE!
Those factory disconnects are usually located near the fuse block.

That;s why I find the Haynes/Bentley manual useful. The Advanced diagram is much easier to read and decipher, but the Haynes/Bentley version shows all the individual connectors. When you're tracing wires it's often helpful to know exactly what kind of connector a wire leads to. I've got a copy on my garage wall that's something like 30" x 40" and colorized. Can't remember where I downloaded the image years ago, but it sure comes in handy!
