I removed the dash on my '67 roadster during the weekend which overall wasn't to bad, thanks to Kim's instructions, but the worst part was trying to disconnect the heater flap connection, its a right hand drive car.
I needed 1 hand to hold down the clutch and brake pedals, 1 hand for the torch, 1 hand for the screw driver, 1 hand to wriggle the cable free and all this with my head between the steering column and the heater box !!!.
Is this the hardest job??

Just curious, but why were you disconnecting the cable at the heater flap? Because if all you wanted to do was remove the dash, there's no need to undo the heater control cables. You can just disconnect the control from the dash and drop it out the back, leaving it connected at the business end.
(But I had to replace my heater/defroster cable, andit IS a painful job, even in a LHD car. I can't imagine doing it with the pedals in the way, too!)
I found it easier (although it is not by any means easy) to remove the heater with the cable attached. I also reassembled with the cable on the heater and fed it through the firewall.
As Kim pointed out, it is relatively easy to disconnect the cables from the dash control - I found it even easier if you remove the control from the dash first.
The reason for undoing the cable is a #*^%@+# DPO, also a Mr Scrooge, replaced the both heater flap and temp controls with ordinary push/pull "choke" cables. I am out this morning trying to locate original controls.
Well, Neil, isn't that special? Did the push-pull cables work for the heater controls?
I believe I have a pair of heater controls. Let me know if you still need them, and I'll go check my stock of spare bits.
