But us St. Louisans had a fun time at Janels impromptu get-together., two dozen of us turned up, 4 B's, an A, a Mini and a Sunbeam Tiger.
We got caught in heavy rain on the way and had to shelter under the canopy of an old gas station - we weren't the only ones there!

arent mg's great?
i have met so many cool people because of them.
thats a wonderful picture.
When we left our house, you could clearly see the rain falling as we approached the bridge over the Mississippi. Chuck said, "You see that? We're going to get wet." I pointed to this space between the 'rain' where it was clear and told him, "Nope, that's where we're going." Got a tiny sprinkle on us twice on the way. Stopped at the restaurant (I'm sorry Mike & Stef, I thought you were both off today picking up carbs so I emailed you at home), slipped the tonneau on & had a nice dinner. Rained a bit while we were eating but was dry (and hotter than hamsterballs) when we came back out. It was a decent turnout for something thrown together day before last. We did have 3, no wait, 4, no 5!! less than adventurous couples that came in their 'normal cars.'
And the ice cream was good!
FYI, I barely recognized Mike and Stef! They BOTH cut their hair off, no more ponytails!
"We can probably be there - we found a set of carbs we're buying tomorrow night (in Belleville). Even if they're not on the car, Ted Drewe's is only blocks from our house, so we can be there in the B."
BUT, this was from Wednesday night. Obviously I lost Thursday somewhere! My bad.
Hehe. That's the result of a week's worth of chlorine on my highlights!
;)
Heya. You and Mike want to go to the Memphis car show with us? Chuck REALLY wants to go, it's the same weekend as the Abingdon Trials endurance rally though. I think I'm going to have to bail on the rally. We went last year, had a great time in Memphis. I think Brian & Chelle are going, maybe some others, haven't talked to many yet. Thought Simon & Tara, Kelly & Nadia might want to go too...
I still have dash plaques from the Memphis Car Show from 1985 and 1986!!! Took PopTop then, too. LOL!
Sounds intriguing. We'll see.
Ya'll come on down! We'd love to have you! Several of us will almost certainly be at your show in September.
That reminds me....gotta get those front end bushings installed....and rebuild the clutch hydraulics...and and replace that nail currently being used as a float pivot in the DCOE with the proper pin (I think the nail has been in there over a year!). So...I probably won't get any dents and dings fixed...so you don't have to worry that I might bring home a trophy :D
Well if I let you guys judge Binabox you have to be nice to her. Emma is still traumatized from that strip search ya'll did on her last fall!!!
Come on up Joe. STL is a great town.
At least Binabox won't be in my class!! Not that it matters...I probably won't even take Kermit through judging. I didn't last year, since I knew there were easily 3 or more RBs better than mine. Besides, I'm too busy taking photographs for the awards banquet to take the time to go through judging...
Oh come on Joe. I took Emma, and there were a dozen RBs nicer than her!
That's the one thing I don't like about the Memphis show (and never HAVE liked) is that "drive-thru judging" thing. Do they still do that?
Last time I was at Memphis for the show was 1996...it was a good time.
