Henry, that's an exceptionally good price. Does that include rings, pins and retainers?
Yes indeed. .................Cheers Henry
It's a good price for forged pistons. JE has had some quality issues at times but usually they're pretty good. Do you know what the piston crown looks like? There are definitely alternatives. I've used Venolias and like them. I know Cosworth makes a piston and so does the company that makes Grant rings - what's the name of their piston company????
Basil, I'm just going with flat top pistons......I'm also looking for some decent .030" over rod bearings and .010" over mains. Got anything to offer there?.......................Cheers Henry

JE pistons is pretty much all I use, I used Venolia and Arias in the past, and to me JE is a superior product, the thing JE does well is their alloy does not require you to run huge piston to cylinder wall clearences, like we had to do in the day with Venolia and Arias. With JE product I run clearence of .0025" - .004" depending on the bore size, the less piston to cylinder wall clearence you can run, the better ring seal you're gonna get. I use JE piston with Total Seal gapless second ring set up on most of my race engines, it's a good combo for the money, not cheap, but you can definately spend more and get less for it.
In short, yes JE is a great product in my opinion.
Hap, glad you are back and not buried somewhere out in the desert. I have JE in my car and though I am by no means an expert, in a short amount of time, they have survived a number of stupid things done by me ... my dad uses the term Marine proof for the stuff they use in the military. JE Pistons seem to be Marine proof.
