What lb lead hammer is recommended for my knock offs? My opinion is that the lighter the hammer less over kill. You would have to hit more but you don't over do it, but I could be wrong - I would like to hear some of your guys opinions. I would greatly appreciate it.
I got my answer. Thanks to all who responded to my question. Your opinions are appreciated.

I use anything I can get my hands on, but just as your thought, the heavier the hammer the less you have to hit it. I'd say 2 lbs would be good.
I like a five. You don't have to swing as hard to get the same effect. And less chance of of a stray glancing blow to a spoke or fender.

Or a knee cap!

I just checked the Moss catalogue and they offer 1, 2 and 4 pound hammers. Unfortunately the price is $40 - $53. I purchased a 2 lb from Harbor Freight that was much cheaper.
I use a 4lb I picked up at Home Depot for about $12, if I remember correctly. It's not lead but it does the trick without a lot of effort. It's compact enough to fit well in the trunk, and it definitely beats the $40 Moss wants.
Don't buy the copper or lead hammers from any of the British car suppliers. Way over priced. Just search industrial supply like MSC Granger or Mcmaster Carr. You can take your pick for.half the price. Stay away from brass it will chew up your knock offs.

What about dead-blow hammer? Anyone ever use these? Seems like they would work without marring the knock-off.
Then there's my son who uses my OE KO hammer for hitting everything.
Caught him trying to drive in a roll-pin with it yesterday... little bits of lead EVERYWHERE.
Picture me with my hair standing on end trying NOT to throttle him.
I just advised him it was not the proper tool (see the damage to the hammer? "uh, yeah"), and found him an appropriate mallet.
Sigh.
Suppose I'll be looking for another since my "Thor" is pretty mangled, now.
