This is a copy of my last post made to the "this should do it" thread below. I am posting it here again in a new thread to save anyone from having to scroll down and re-read that part of the thread should you be even mildly interested in my opinion and perspective.

I will be leaving early tomorrow morning to be with my mother as she passes, so please don't expect much out of me for a few days.

Peace and good will to almost everyone. LOL Jack

****************

With this note I give up. I will post here again, but I shall no longer try to reason with stones or stumps.

The same folks are again asking the "what is 'is'" question, and it has become obvious to me that they have no desire or capability to debate or reason with anyone other than those of their own stripe.

With all due and civilized respect to you guys, all I was doing was posting what is clearly just a simple explanation of the differences in governing systems. Certainly it is flawed, but how else would you have demonstrated the differences?

I realize now that had I posted the entire text of some thick volume on conservative thought you would have done the same. Had I posted even a short article from Buckley you would have done the same. Had I posted ANYTHING that didn't coincide with your very narrow Leftist ideology you would have done the same. You win. End of story. I will quit trying to reason with you because it is simply impossible to exchange ideas without being pummeled by your primeval weapons of sticks and stones. I am simply tired of wasting my breath.

Now that you have tried to pick my post apart though, I feel compelled to point out that I have seen such reaction innumerable times in my life and that without exception it has come from overly educated, agenda driven, leftist ideologues who simply cannot stop themselves from finding a way, any way, to get out of the corner in which they find themselves, or from illiterate and unthinking fools who have swallowed too much Kool-Aid after being mesmerized by a lie. Cats fighting for their lives, rats running to and fro on a beam, birds frightened out of their wits, hallucinations in the minds of deranged folks, all are within the vision that I have of you.

To you, simple and clear descriptions of a given circumstance are not enough when there is yet one more word or one more grey cell not fired, that could have even the most remote possibility of deflecting the truth. From my perspective it is sad because in your victory you have demonstrated that truth and clear thinking does NOT always prevail. In it's passage the legislation in question proves that fact.

I am certain that some how some way someone here on the left is going to attempt to justify the simple and clear fact that this law was passed "without it being read". Do you not understand that this in itself is criminal malfeasance on the part of the lawmakers who voted for it? Do you not understand, that the complete rejection on the part of the majority party of any debate is tantamount to totalitarianism?

Not withstanding the rightness or wrongness of the law itself, the fact is that the law was passed by people who do not or will not govern within the spirit of any level of decency. They have no shame and they have no honor. They are a pack of vagrant dogs lead by the scent of power and the promise of fresh meat that they can drag home and trade for more power.

The validity of the law itself may rightfully be questioned and debated but the stench of the vote is overwhelming.

And, please don't bore me by trying the usual lame comparisons of this situation with that of things like the Patriot Act or anything else that comes from recent memory.

It is your devout custom and great talent to parse words and whole events. It is stomach churning and mind spinning when you do that and it just doesn't fly with a large minority of us. We are not fools and we reject your attempts to stuff us into that box. Our greatest failure is that we relied on the honor and belief in the reasoned discussion that differentiates us from savages to win the day. It is our failure to not have recognised the necessity of killing the seed of stupidity sewn in the minds of our forefather's young when we had the opportunity. It is our failure that we did not uphold the righteousness of our Constitution when it was under attack. It is our failure to have not scorned and banished the vermin who have so eaten away at the fabric of our Republic. It is our shame that we have failed.

The doors are now open and reason and honor have fled. The jackals and boars are sitting on the benches of power and their re-enforcements are pouring in through our borders. I for one am trying to find the exit by crawling under to smoke. If I find it I'll hold a candle for those who wish to follow and then I will slip quietly away, but I will close the door behind me with the hope that those remaining will enjoy what that can of the time left to them.

As for immediate relief, all I can pray for now is a miracle that the "traitorous three" might see the folly of their ways and come home to stand firm in the face of reason and honor, disregarding the fact that the battle is lost and that the only thing that remains is that same reason and honor.

May God forgive those who have so severely wounded our Republic, for they are weak of mind and have been lead astray by forces larger and stronger that anyone could have imaged. Amen.

Jack I was sorry to hear about your mom, i understand your grief as this past feb tenth my mom was gone two years already--so much time wasted, arguments that seem to be not meaningful now. Things from what you've written could be better for your wife and you,as i posted earlier your impending loss of health care benefits is a concern for me and should be for all Americans. In times such as these its hard not to lash out at people whose views differ from yours, but it serves you know purpose. Were all entitled to our opinions and to far to the right or left iswhat got us into th state were in today. Stay with mom in her final hours on earth, know that when her time comes she will enter another world free of pain, free of heartbreak, she will be with her loved ones who have already passed. She will enter His kingdom, celebrate her life and God Bless you and your family

Jack,

You clearly missed my point. The people who voted for this bill as well as the bill itself disgust me. The same holds true for the AIG bail out, the Patriot Act and for that matter the Gulf of Tonken Resolution and many others. I was merely trying to point out that the same "no read, they don't have a clue whats in it" Constitutional trashing Patriot Act was passed in the same manor.

I would appear to me that the two camps of liberalism and conservitism will no longer allow people to choose someplace in between. I have never liked the "left brained " labeling that has become so prevelent in our society today. I don't go for the crap that either major party offers up so label me what you will.

May God grant you comfort in your time of need.

Jack, very sorry to hear about your mother.

Sounds like you are considering leaving the forum...did I misunderstand? Please reconsider, as I think I speak for many when I say we enjoy your input.

May God's hand be on you and your mother at this time, Jack. What you will be doing for and with your mom at this time is far more important than parsing words here.
