The 09 season is in the bag for the 31 and 41 MGAs. We already have the cars apart for crack testing of all the major components. Only 4 races this year after the last crack test and we found a another cracked axle, one cracked front spindle, rear hub bearings have too much play, so we decided that after 5 years we are replacing all wheel bearings, (likely why we cracked the axle), clutch in both cars to be replaced, harness to be replaced in both cars, (we get 5 years out of the FIA belts) - normal servicing of the gear boxes and rear ends. Thats it... bring on 2010!
Let the off season begin...

I have one more race and can't wait. I'll only have had three this season. I won't be doing a major overhaul this winter, so the car will stay together and I will be racing in the Spring of 2010 too.
What off season?:S
Savannah in mid-December for the VDCA season "Finale", then two months later, on to Road Atlanta for their season opener in Februrary.

Rick, hopefully you'll be up and running this December?? I'm also thinking about going to the February race. Road Atlanta is on my must do list and my sponsor is down that way.
Sitting and thinking and having a beer.... haste made waste.... lots of thinking to do!
Well, after I see if the axe falls at work next week, if things work out I'm going to order a set of wheels from Hap. I got my new numbers and letters Sunday so I have to put them on. I need to align the front end, balance the car and check the timing. The circle track swap meet is the 11-14 so I'm planning on seeing what's for sale there that I need. After I get the race car moved I need to get started on my next big project for my Dad. I need to sand it down and repaint it for him.
I should be up and going in the next couple of days. The engine is in one piece, ready to accept the tranny. All I have to do is pull the car in the shop and swap out the lump.
If you can, you should try to make Atlanta. That track is probably one of my favorites, given the elevation changes and the shear size of it. Every one should do it at least once.
I'll be looking for you in December at Savannah:thumbsup:
I sat on the roof of a car for three laps of that track. :)

Were you holding a checkered flag?
Great to hear Rick! I'm looking forward to seeing you and the rest of the gang next month.
No, I was holding a 40-pound camera! Fortunately we weren't going that fast - under 50 MPH.
I have just been told the Boss is hiring the local track so he can play with the Tesla before Christmas. So I am invited to play! That means just two cars on the track - all day.
Can anyone say TESTING and PRACTICE!!! The two things I was missing before taking the car out and disappointing myself last time!
Yay!!
