Sinatra that is......the man is generation-less, way to many songs to have a best one, but lately my choice has been "fly me to the moon"..... it never fails to lift my spirits.....give it a listen.............

He was a very good actor too. Not the kind of actor that's a cameleon and hard to identify from role to role actor, but convincing and natural within the range of parts he played. Loved him in "The Manchurian Candidate" especially.
...thanks dcdci...but boo hoo....I can't get youtube..........I hope it was good.
I actually had the once in a lifetime opportunity to meet the man in person back in '81. He had just finished performing at "Chicago Fest", (pre Tatse of Chicago) and when he came back stage the entire area came to an alert status it seemed. He had that much presence in the room. He came over and I was introduced to the man and was absolutely stunned by his charm and the ease at which he was able to make one feel comfortable. I shall never forget those few minutes and yes, it was a feeling like flying to the moon. "That's Life" is one of my particular favorites as many others that he sang. They are ALL classics.
Sorry Wyatt, you've got to get hi-speed internet. Get those hamsters moving in that wheel!
BTW, there are 22,300 videos of Sinatra on youtube according to the youtube search engine.
Too bad some of our "vocalists" of today do not even think to listen to him and what made the great artist he was. They just might learn something. On the same note some of the great female vocalists of the past come to mind. Ella Fitzgerald, June Christy, and Carmen Mac Rae. Thankfuly I was able to see all of them in person at one time or another and cherish the memories of those great performances.
Old George Herschell
There are younger singers influenced by Sinatra, but they don't get much media attention. This is because they are Jazz singers, and Jazz has fallen from favor in pop culture.
In Other Words, is my favorite also.
Anything Frank, as long as its loud!
Its all good.
Wyatt, you might like Michael Buble, he's no Frank of course but he's damn good.
Sirius/XM radio now has a "Seriously Sinatra" station #75 - great standard tunes 24/7
It's #2 on my pre-set on the car and in my office.
I'm not a huge fan of FS, but I like this song and a number of others. I remember in an interview he was always of the mind that the words should be understood. If the singer was slurring them, then there was no point in singing - or writing lyrics. I think the clarity and power of his voice and singing style went a long way towards his popularity.
My favorites... Loreena Mckennitt and Emmylou Harris.
Cheers,
Glen
Wyatt, You can start a u-tube video loading, and go on to something else. It may take a while, but it will usually load, for viewing later. For a long video, it can load while you sleep.
Robert Johnson and Lead Belly. Old time blues is the best.
Frank was the greatest. Technically he was praised for his phrasing and breath control. He was also very precise and demanding. If he heard a musician in the orchestra playing off key every so slightly, that guy was toast.
